Review:

Note:

Introduction to Digital Systems covers the fundamentals of digital logic design and microprocessors. Specific topics covered are Boolean algebra, algorithms and flow charts, digital logic design, state machines, and assembly language programming.

The class was divided on the clearness of Dr. Arroyo's lecture, but most agreed he was well prepared. Dr. Arroyo's lectures were entertaining, and the students compared him well to other professors.

Dr. Arroyo discourages active note taking since he sends all his notes to the copy center. Also, note taking is difficult as the students said Dr. Arroyo went through material at a fast pace.

Discussions in class were infrequent and unusually unhelpful.

The time on exams was tight and the level of understanding needed was high. Test questions were much more complicated than homework or examles in the book.

The lab provided hands-on experience and deeped understanding of the material in lecture. Most liked the lab but complained of faulty lab equipment.

"Keep up with the reading and try to understand the concept before the
lecture."
"You're not the only one doing as bad as you're doing."
"Be prepared to learn and study, study, study."
"It's easier than thermo."
