Note:
4744 is an interesting class in which you get hands on experience working with a microprocessor. At the same time, students agreed that the class was time consuming.
The students found Harris' lectures to be clearly explained and well prepared although some thought that he relied too heavily on the TA's to explain things in class.
The course is fast paced and it is highly suggested that you don't fall behind. The lab is what consumes most of the time in this class but the lab is also what makes the class so popular. Also in regards to time, it was felt that not enough time was provided for the exams but the grading was okay.
The Miller textbook was okay but most students claimed it was unnecessary and all of their information came from the HCII reference and tech. manuals.
"Be prepared to be fast on the exam. " "Don't procrastinate. " "Be prepared to spend considerable time for this course. " "Be prepared to get lost in 68HCII land." "You WILL love the HCII (and be assimilated)." "This class is cool."
