Note:

EEL 4306 is the second half of the Microelectronics sequence. It covers feedback analysis, analog microelectronics, op-amp applications, and digital circuits. There is a lab session included with this course.

In class, discussions occur frequently and tend to be informative. Dr. Fox is enthusiastic and knows the material well. One student commented, "If you want to specialize in electronics, take Fox and nobody else."

The pace of the course is fast, but seems to be okay for most students. Be sure to keep up. The homework took an average of 4.2 hours per week, the reading took an average of 3.4 hours per week, and the lab took an average of 3.8 hours per week. The te xtbook does not solve the problems the same way as Dr. Fox, make sure to get all the handouts and USE THEM!

Dr. Fox makes you go to lab every week even when there is not a lab assignment. A few students thought this was a waste of time, but the general consensus was that the labs used for question and answer periods were beneficial, especially before tests. S ome students commented that the best thing about the class was that the labs give good practical applications to the material taught in lecture.

"Hard and fast, but you learn a lot of practical information."
"Whirlwind tour of electronics and its complexities."
"Save your Micro I notes if you want to survive."
