EEL 5840, Elements of Machine Intelligence, covers engineering and hardware concepts pertaining to design of intelligent computer systems.
In class discussions occur fairly frequently and were generally considered to be informative. The class lectures were considered entertaining and the examples were applicable and relevant to the course work.
The pace of the class is fast, which most students seemed to like. The homework took an average of 4 hours per week, the reading took an average of 2 hours per week. Overall the class was considered both interesting and useful. When asked what was best about the class, most students said "the instructor."
Some students felt an introduction to robotics would have been very useful before taking this class.
